Packing and Accessories
In the box:
X6 in-ear headphones
3 pairs silicone ear tips (S, M, L)
This is very cheap, costing only SG$9 plus shipment. So I wasn't expecting much from it. However, it turned out to be quite decent.
The earphone comes in very plain and simple packing. This is understandable for its price point.
Built and Cable
The casing is mostly plastic, and is light and stays in ear. The cable is of TPE material and are on the softer side. They don't retain bends and curls and surprisingly doesn't tangle as much. They are also easily coiled to be placed into protective cases.
They are pretty comfortable to wear however, the sound quality makes my ears fatigue after some time of use.
Noise Isolation, Mic and Volume Control
The noise isolation is pretty good, I guess its due to its loud volume. I'm also pretty amused by its resistor based volume control, I've never seen it with any earphones prior to this one.
The volume control is actually a slider that controls the volume of the earphone itself and not of the phone/player. Meaning if I set the slider to 50%, the earphone would play music at 50% of the volume of the player.
However, I'm not sure I like the mic/control as the Y split. The microphone seems to be too far or near to the mouth (depending on how you wear it - around the neck or not).
Sound
There is nothing I could highlight about this pair. The low/bass are quite distorted and not as fun. The high and mids aren't impressive too, they're not as clear or forward as I like them to be. They aren't that fun to listen to and may even cause fatigue.
Pros:
- Light weight
- Comfortable
- Good fit
- Decent noise isolation
- Mic and controls works well with iPhone
- Slider volume control makes controlling of volume possible on every player
- Cheap
- Soft cable that doesn't retain bends and curls
- Doesn't tangle much
Cons:
- Bass is distorted and not fun- Mids and Highs are lacking and recessed
- Cause fatigue after long hours
- Lack of accessories (I think it's fine for its price)
- Simple packaging (I think it's fine for its price)
- Not as fun to listen to
- Microphone positioning can be better
Overall score: 2.5/5 | Microphone: 3/5 |
